    What a day...

It seems my son was pulling a fast one yesterday with the stomach ache.  He didn't feel 100% and made it look worse.  To get out of going to school.

Therefore this morning he still didn't want to go to school, and I had to do a lot of persuading to get him there.

Then I went to work, we are very busy, and they are pushing us, about getting the next job done when we haven't even finished the current one!!

I left at 2pm, and came home, excuse me when I say this...but I was incredibly horny and I was glad when hubby came home early, but we were interupted by the phone, it was my sister who was very worried about mum, who is now in hospital.  She was very conserned about the fact that mum seemed worse now than she had been at home.

I was rather upset when I came off the phone.

Hubby collected our son from school, when he came back, I went into town and got the items mum needed and a bit of shopping.  I came home, put the shopping away, and had to cook pancakes for my son and husband before they went out to Colchester United. (It is pancake day today).

As soon as I had done that, I drove my daughter and myself over to the hospital to see mum, expecting the worst, I was pleasantly surprised, she seemed much more clear headed and her speech was no longer slurred.

I went and got her some fruit from the canteen, and some fruit juices to drink.  As we left she was going to do the crossword in the paper, so I was a lot happier to see her like that.

I drove home, phoned my sister and put her mind at rest, I also phoned grandma, just to let her know (other side of the family).

Then hubby and son got back, so now, having got son to bed etc, it is 11pm before I have managed to sit down in front of the computer.

So I am quite tired now.  I have a nice mug of coffee, and I need to wind down before bed.

    A day of rest.

My son has a stomach ache and is off school today.  I wasn't sure he was really unwell enough to miss school, but seeing as he will miss football practise tonight, he must feel rough, because he looks forward to that.  So I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Also it gives me a day to recover from all that walking yesterday.  My legs are  stiff...oh these poor old bones of mine ;)

    My day out in London.

I have just enjoyed a lovely day out in London.  :)  Even if the trains were a pain.

Part of my journey was by bus, because of egineering work on the line.  Then when I got to London, I had to make a detour or two, on the underground due to other engineering work.

I met Neil at St Pancras, and we went shopping in Oxford Street first, then went to Madam Tausauds and the Planetarium, which was fun, then we went shopping again..he doesn't shop like a bloke, he browses!!!  My husband won't browse, if he wants to buy something, he just goes to one place and buys it, he hates me "shopping around" lol.  This made a refreshing change. :)

I didn't do bad at navigating on the underground, I only got us on the wrong train once. *blush*.  I got him safely back to his train home.  Then the cheeky sod squeezed my arse!!!  *Giggle* (I didn't mind really).

So now my feet are killing me, all that walking, plus my underground train got stopped for security reasons, one stop before my station, so I had to walk to Liverpool Street.  I got back to my home station just after 8pm, and hubby picked me up in the car.

Sadly the day ended on a downer, my sister called, after a slight improvement this morning, Mum has taken a downturn, and another doctor had to be called out.  He thinks mum is having mini strokes, and she needs blood tests.  My sister is going to insist they take her into hospital, so she can have the proper care.

I will be going into work tomorrow.  My sister is staying with mum.  I feel bad that I have not been able to help more.  But to be honest, some of the things my sister has had to do for mum, I am just not capable of, myself.

Children back to school tomorrow...back into the old routine again.

    Goodnight.

    Weekend

I visited my mum this morning, and she is not much better.  Her drugs have been reduced, because they have inflammed her stomach.  They say she should feel a lot better once the other drugs are out of her system.

My sister is making me feel that I am not doing enough to help, but it is very difficult when I have my own family to look after.  We only have one car, and when hubby has it, I am stuck at home.

I have offered to miss work this week, and go over while the kids are at school, but to be honest, we need the money.

This afternoon my daughter and I walked the dog up to the train station, and found out that there is work being done on the line, so part of my journey tomorrow will be by bus, so that has made my journey take much longer.

I will have to catch the 9.33am train, which will get me to Liverpool Street station at 10.53am (traffic permitting), normally the train takes 40 mins to get to London.

I will not be staying up late tonight.

    Later that day

Hubby decided to order out for Pizza tonight.  Yummy, meat feast, stuffed crust and jacket potatoes...

I went dancing, it was a private lesson tonight, so I worked hard, got Swing Jive and Mambo sorted out.  Worked on the other 2 dances.  Ruth was pleased with me.

Drove home, watched Graham Norton, then came on line, did some work on my board.  Deleting old posts if they had broken links in them etc.

I'm going to see mum tomorrow, hubby and son are off to football in the afternoon, so a nice quiet time with just me and my daughter, :)

I might get Sunday's train ticket tomorrow, because I'm not sure if the ticket office will be open on Sunday.  It will also save time on the day.

    That's about it for today.

    Goodnight.

    Hubby's last day off work

I slept in until about 9.30am, which was nice, because I didnt get to bed till 3am. (listening to a lovely accent ;)  )

Hubby took our son to his football coaching course.  Then my daughter and I went into town.  Found her a lovely coat for only £15!!  We found the video of Chicago for only £6.99!

FFX-2 is out and I have told hubby I want it for my birthday.

We took home some french sick type of rolls, and corned beef for lunch.

I've got a little time on line now, and I will be going to my dancing class tonight.

    One hell of a day.

I didn't have time to even check my emails this morning.

I took my son to his football training course, dropped him of at the sports centre, then drove on to Braintree, where I visited my mum.  She is really very ill, shingles plus vertigo, she still can't keep her food down, and she looks thin and weak.  It is quite disturbing seeing her like this, because she is normally so strong and tough, and now she is bedridden, her words were often slurred, she was weak and feeble.

My sister arrived while we were there, and she called the doctor out again, because of the sickness, mum has hardly eaten anything lately.  We all chatted for a while, then I had to go and meet grandma (on my hubby's side of the family).

My daughter and I met grandma in the cafe and we all had jacket potatoes for lunch.  Grandma went into Tesco's while my daughter and I went to Argos, then I bought myself some new trousers.  I had worn out my black jeans, but I have been unable to find any new black ones.  I ended up getting a pair of olive green and a pair of beige ones. (2 pairs for £30, not bad!).

We went down to Tesco and got the food shopping.  Took grandma home, and we were driving home, when I realised that I had meant to get something for mum and go back to her house.  So we drove back into Braintree and parked, I bought some crystalized ginger (good for the nausea) and a tonic to help to build her up once she is feeling better.  I also got a case for my mobile phone.

We drove back to mum's, and gave her the items.  She seemed pleased, we chatted some more.  The doctor had been, and said that the painkillers were causing her to be sick, and he gave her some anti sickness pills. My sister was back, and we all chatted, and mum dozed of a few times.

It was starting to get late so we said our goodbyes.  My sister asked if I could visit mum on Sunday, and I said I was going out, my daughter says, "Oh where are we going?" and I told her she wasn't going anywhere it was me.  Sister asks where I am going, I say London, and begin to leave, daughter asking lots of questions, (she always expects to go with me, but this day out is for me, not her).

When I got home, I made some dinner for the children, I was not hungry, hubby was going out coaching and does not eat beforehand.

He had put some stuff on the grouting in the bathroom, to whiten it, the excess needed cleaning off of the tiles, so I went and did that before it dried on too much (like last time).

I tried to ring my sister, later, I had to leave a message on her machine, telling her that even if I had not been going out Sunday, I still could not have gone over to mum's because I won't have the car.  I told her that I would have the car between 10.30 and 12.45 on Saturday, if that was  any help.  I did not get a call back.

My son was a right sod this evening, and it was a struggle to get him to bed.  Just as I got the kids in bed, hubby comes home.  I made us some bacon sandwiches (with brown sauce, yum) and we chatted.  He is ok about me going out Sunday, he even made jokes about it.

SO, I have not been able to get on line till now!  I had about 80 emails to wade through, most of which was my Backstreet Boys email group, so it was just a matter of reading and deleting.  I need to answer a few of those though.

I am feeling quite tired, I just need to check a few things and then off to bed. I can sleep in until about 9am tomorrow.

    Life Moments

There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real!

    When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often times we look so long at the
closed door that we don't see the one,
which has been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,
because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one that makes your heart smile

    Dream what you want to dream;
    go where you want to go;
be what you want to be,
because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things
     you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human and
enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily
    have the best of everything;
they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.

    The brightest future will always
    be based on a forgotten past;
you can't go forward in life until
you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying
and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end,
you're the one who is smiling and everyone
     around you is crying.

    My Hair History continued.

I've been scanning photos again. :)

My husband reminded me that one hairdresser I used to go to, tried out something unusual on me, becuase he was hoping to do competitions.  Here is the result. This would be around...the early 80's

This one is around the age of 30

Here is my hair at it's longest around '95

..and this is me meeting Kevin Richardson last October/November. (Excuse the soppy expression on my face *laughs*)

I am going out for the day on Sunday, and I will have my camera with me, I am going to Madame Tussauds Waxworks, and the Planetarium, in London.  If I get an up to date photo then, I will post it.

At the moment it is pretty much like the one with Kevin, but I don't have any highlights left in it so it is darker blonde.

    Half term holiday

The children are off school, but since hubby is home, I can still work.

I got in earlier than usual, so I will get more hours this week, if I continue to do that for the next couple of days.

I left at 2pm, the children had their friends round.  I made pasta with bacon for dinner.  Hubby went coaching.  Once he had gone I went on line.  I tired to clear out a load of old emails, I am such a hoarder, I caught up with a few other things, then hubby came home again.

He was in a talkative mood, but he was talking about football, he knows I am just not interested in it, but he just kept on, and I was getting very irritated.  I was being very short with him, but he still kept on, until in the end, when he was repeating something he had already told me, I told him that we had already had that conversation, at which point he got a bit annoyed with me, and went off to have a shower, and then went to bed.

I know it was rotten of me, but he knows I am not interested, so why does he have to go into every tiny detail, just give me the facts!!  I don't need to know every word that was said etc.  My husband likes the sound of his own voice.

It will be nice to get back into a normal routine again next week.

My sister rang, she took mum to the hosptial last night, and they have decided that mum is also suffering from vertigo, which is why she is being sick.  They gave her some medication, but she can't keep it down???!!!  My sister has left her mobile phone beside mums bed, so now I will be able to call her without worrying that I am dragging her downstairs to the phone.  I hope to go and see her on Thursday.

Chris de Burgh has announced his UK tour dates, he will be in Southend in October, so I hope to book that one, he is doing a solo tour, so it will be nice and cosy in that little theatre.

I'm feeling rather irritable tonight, I think I'll go to bed.
