Hubby's last day off work
I slept in until about 9.30am, which was nice, because I didnt get to bed till 3am. (listening to a lovely accent ;) )
Hubby took our son to his football coaching course. Then my daughter and I went into town. Found her a lovely coat for only £15!! We found the video of Chicago for only £6.99!
FFX-2 is out and I have told hubby I want it for my birthday.
We took home some french sick type of rolls, and corned beef for lunch.
I've got a little time on line now, and I will be going to my dancing class tonight.

I didn't have time to even check my emails this morning.
I took my son to his football training course, dropped him of at the sports centre, then drove on to Braintree, where I visited my mum. She is really very ill, shingles plus vertigo, she still can't keep her food down, and she looks thin and weak. It is quite disturbing seeing her like this, because she is normally so strong and tough, and now she is bedridden, her words were often slurred, she was weak and feeble.
My sister arrived while we were there, and she called the doctor out again, because of the sickness, mum has hardly eaten anything lately. We all chatted for a while, then I had to go and meet grandma (on my hubby's side of the family).
My daughter and I met grandma in the cafe and we all had jacket potatoes for lunch. Grandma went into Tesco's while my daughter and I went to Argos, then I bought myself some new trousers. I had worn out my black jeans, but I have been unable to find any new black ones. I ended up getting a pair of olive green and a pair of beige ones. (2 pairs for £30, not bad!).
We went down to Tesco and got the food shopping. Took grandma home, and we were driving home, when I realised that I had meant to get something for mum and go back to her house. So we drove back into Braintree and parked, I bought some crystalized ginger (good for the nausea) and a tonic to help to build her up once she is feeling better. I also got a case for my mobile phone.
We drove back to mum's, and gave her the items. She seemed pleased, we chatted some more. The doctor had been, and said that the painkillers were causing her to be sick, and he gave her some anti sickness pills. My sister was back, and we all chatted, and mum dozed of a few times.
It was starting to get late so we said our goodbyes. My sister asked if I could visit mum on Sunday, and I said I was going out, my daughter says, "Oh where are we going?" and I told her she wasn't going anywhere it was me. Sister asks where I am going, I say London, and begin to leave, daughter asking lots of questions, (she always expects to go with me, but this day out is for me, not her).
When I got home, I made some dinner for the children, I was not hungry, hubby was going out coaching and does not eat beforehand.
He had put some stuff on the grouting in the bathroom, to whiten it, the excess needed cleaning off of the tiles, so I went and did that before it dried on too much (like last time).
I tried to ring my sister, later, I had to leave a message on her machine, telling her that even if I had not been going out Sunday, I still could not have gone over to mum's because I won't have the car. I told her that I would have the car between 10.30 and 12.45 on Saturday, if that was any help. I did not get a call back.
My son was a right sod this evening, and it was a struggle to get him to bed. Just as I got the kids in bed, hubby comes home. I made us some bacon sandwiches (with brown sauce, yum) and we chatted. He is ok about me going out Sunday, he even made jokes about it.
SO, I have not been able to get on line till now! I had about 80 emails to wade through, most of which was my Backstreet Boys email group, so it was just a matter of reading and deleting. I need to answer a few of those though.
I am feeling quite tired, I just need to check a few things and then off to bed. I can sleep in until about 9am tomorrow.

There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real!
When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often times we look so long at the
closed door that we don't see the one,
which has been opened for us.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,
because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one that makes your heart smile
Dream what you want to dream;
go where you want to go;
be what you want to be,
because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things
you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human and
enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily
have the best of everything;
they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always
be based on a forgotten past;
you can't go forward in life until
you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying
and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end,
you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

My Hair History continued.
I've been scanning photos again. :)
My husband reminded me that one hairdresser I used to go to, tried out something unusual on me, becuase he was hoping to do competitions. Here is the result. This would be around...the early 80's

This one is around the age of 30
Here is my hair at it's longest around '95
..and this is me meeting Kevin Richardson last October/November. (Excuse the soppy expression on my face *laughs*)
I am going out for the day on Sunday, and I will have my camera with me, I am going to Madame Tussauds Waxworks, and the Planetarium, in London. If I get an up to date photo then, I will post it.
At the moment it is pretty much like the one with Kevin, but I don't have any highlights left in it so it is darker blonde.

The children are off school, but since hubby is home, I can still work.
I got in earlier than usual, so I will get more hours this week, if I continue to do that for the next couple of days.
I left at 2pm, the children had their friends round. I made pasta with bacon for dinner. Hubby went coaching. Once he had gone I went on line. I tired to clear out a load of old emails, I am such a hoarder, I caught up with a few other things, then hubby came home again.
He was in a talkative mood, but he was talking about football, he knows I am just not interested in it, but he just kept on, and I was getting very irritated. I was being very short with him, but he still kept on, until in the end, when he was repeating something he had already told me, I told him that we had already had that conversation, at which point he got a bit annoyed with me, and went off to have a shower, and then went to bed.
I know it was rotten of me, but he knows I am not interested, so why does he have to go into every tiny detail, just give me the facts!! I don't need to know every word that was said etc. My husband likes the sound of his own voice.
It will be nice to get back into a normal routine again next week.
My sister rang, she took mum to the hosptial last night, and they have decided that mum is also suffering from vertigo, which is why she is being sick. They gave her some medication, but she can't keep it down???!!! My sister has left her mobile phone beside mums bed, so now I will be able to call her without worrying that I am dragging her downstairs to the phone. I hope to go and see her on Thursday.
Chris de Burgh has announced his UK tour dates, he will be in Southend in October, so I hope to book that one, he is doing a solo tour, so it will be nice and cosy in that little theatre.
I'm feeling rather irritable tonight, I think I'll go to bed.

I was expecting to get some time to myself today, but it didn't happen. Hubby could not get a team together and the football match got cancelled.
He did take our daughter swimming late afternoon, but I had to cook dinner while they were gone (Shepherd's Pie) so I didn't have time to scan the pictures. I'm not sure when I will get a chance to do that now.
My mum is quite sick. She has shingles and is in a lot of pain. My sister rang and told me that she called a doctor this morning and he arranged for her to pick up some extra strong pain killers from the hospital, but he didn't come out and even have a look at mum!!! She is in a lot of pain, she is retching, and she has lost weight, and she is over 70!!!
We need to persuade mum to call a doctor out tomorrow, but she probably won't want to bother them. She is far too stubborn. She is not a feeble woman either, so I know she must really be ill for this to get her down so much.
I will be working for the next three days, while hubby will be home with the children. *wicked evil grin* I can't wait to see how he gets on with the fighting etc. They have a couple of friends coming round tomorrow, so that should keep them happy.
I think I will go to bed soon, goodnight all.
P.S. Here is a picture I uploaded the other day and forgot to post it. It was taken as a publicity shot for the local amateur dramatic society I used to be in. I was in my ealy 20's when this was taken, obviously it is black and white, I really like this picture.

Checked emails this morning, a quick check round my boards, and then I logged off.
It's been busy today. I drove all of us to Chelmsford, we got a new printer for the computer, a Cannon i250 Bubblejet printer. We had a good browse round PCWorld while we were there. I saw Photoshop Pro, but I was not gonna pay £100, I'll give that a miss.
We had lunch in McDonalds, I only had the chicken selects happy meal, I am determined to cut down and try to lose some weight. I refused a dessert.
Hubby drove us home, he found it ok, although his ankle feels stiff.
Collected the dog, left the printer at home, and went over to grandma's house. Had a nice visit with her. I rang my mum to see if I could go round and visit her. She has not been well, she has shingles, and is very uncomfortable, she was in tears talking to hubby on the phone last night, so she must feel bad. But there was no reply, I guessed she was in bed resting so I didn't want to disturb her. (Sure enough, there was a message on our answering machine when we got home, she had been in bed).
Hubby fixed grandma's doorbell then went and visited his mum. The children and I had tea with grandma, and watched TV and chatted with her.
When hubby got back, we all got ready and went home.
I have just set up the new printer, and it is working well. I printed a picture of Orlando Blloom for our daughter, and printed out three special photos of hubby that were taken at Colchester United (football).
All the pictures came out very well, it is nice to have a fully functioning printer again. We need to find a way of disposing of the old one in an environmentally friendly manner.
I will get some time to myself tomorrow, so I hope to scan some more pictures into the computer.
Everything seems very quiet tonight, a good time to get offline it seems. :)

It has been a busy day again, I have not spent much time on line, just in the evenings, mainly.
Tonight I went to my dancing class, for the first time in a couple of months. The medal test is March 19th, I don't have time to get ready for a Latin American medal, so I will consentrate on Club dance. Salsa, Merengue, Swing Jive and Mambo.
It was nice seeing a friendly face tonight. :)
I also had some good advice from a dear friend, thankyou. He thinks I should spend less time on line at night, and try to go to bed at the same time as my husband once in a while. It is good to get a male perspective on things.
Congratulations to Neil on passing his Driving Theory test!!!! Well done!!
We are going to buy a new printer tomorrow, this one has never worked properly. In fact I will be out most of tomorrow. Driving my husband around,. It will be a lot easier once he feels he can drive again.
I have found some more photos...but I have not had time to scan any of them. I'm glad people seem to have enjoyed what I posted so far.
I'm off to bed. Goodnight.

I was on line this morning, when my husband started to vaccuum upstairs. I took the hint, and logged off.
I cleaned the cooker top, washed the dishes and cleaned the sink, and seduced my husband before lunch.
Having created quite an appetite ;) We had cheese and onion in granary rolls for lunch. Yummy!
Collected our son from school, took him to the library, I went to the bank. We bought a couple of new lampshades. A lovely one for our bedroom, is is made of sheer red material, it is un upside down pyramid shape, with a gold tassle hanging from the point at the bottom. I think it will go with the new bedding very nicely.
Went to the nurse, and hubby had the staples removed from his wounds, (from the operation).
We went home, I cooked dinner, There being nothing much on TV, we switched it off. I dug out a load of old photos, and scanned them. Much fun. :)

I have been challenged to do a "Hair History".
There have been many styles over the years, it has been long, cut short and grown long again. I sorted through a load of photos tonight, and scanned them, and cropped them, I havene't finished by a long chalk, I am always changing my hair.
Here is the start.
This is my Purdy look. (The New Avengers)
This one isn't very clear, I didn't have a very good camera then. It is my shaggy perm. Mum did this for me. (I'm forever gratefull, *rollseyes*)
Not very long after I met my husband to be( 1979)...I had my hair cut really short, and he HATED it!!
So I grew it long for him. This one is around the time I got engaged (at 19 years old) in 1981.
Later that year, in September, my sister got married, and I was one of her bridesmaids.
But it was difficult to keep it looking nice. So it ended up short again. This si the year before we got married, we were on holiday in Wales. (I really like this picture)
I grew it a little longer for the wedding.
Here I am, pregnant with my daughter, on holiday in Cornwall, notice how I am clinging onto the railings, I was saying through gritted teeth. "Hurry up and take the bloody picture, so I get back down to the ground." *Scared of heights*
Finally for today, this one was taken in 1990/91, after I had my daughter, Just before this, I had had a perm again, and it look terrible, so I had it all cut off, leaving this rather smart hairstlye.
Are you wishing you hadn't asked Manicat???? I haven't finished yet.
