I was expecting to get some time to myself today, but it didn't happen. Hubby could not get a team together and the football match got cancelled.
He did take our daughter swimming late afternoon, but I had to cook dinner while they were gone (Shepherd's Pie) so I didn't have time to scan the pictures. I'm not sure when I will get a chance to do that now.
My mum is quite sick. She has shingles and is in a lot of pain. My sister rang and told me that she called a doctor this morning and he arranged for her to pick up some extra strong pain killers from the hospital, but he didn't come out and even have a look at mum!!! She is in a lot of pain, she is retching, and she has lost weight, and she is over 70!!!
We need to persuade mum to call a doctor out tomorrow, but she probably won't want to bother them. She is far too stubborn. She is not a feeble woman either, so I know she must really be ill for this to get her down so much.
I will be working for the next three days, while hubby will be home with the children. *wicked evil grin* I can't wait to see how he gets on with the fighting etc. They have a couple of friends coming round tomorrow, so that should keep them happy.
I think I will go to bed soon, goodnight all.
P.S. Here is a picture I uploaded the other day and forgot to post it. It was taken as a publicity shot for the local amateur dramatic society I used to be in. I was in my ealy 20's when this was taken, obviously it is black and white, I really like this picture.

Checked emails this morning, a quick check round my boards, and then I logged off.
It's been busy today. I drove all of us to Chelmsford, we got a new printer for the computer, a Cannon i250 Bubblejet printer. We had a good browse round PCWorld while we were there. I saw Photoshop Pro, but I was not gonna pay £100, I'll give that a miss.
We had lunch in McDonalds, I only had the chicken selects happy meal, I am determined to cut down and try to lose some weight. I refused a dessert.
Hubby drove us home, he found it ok, although his ankle feels stiff.
Collected the dog, left the printer at home, and went over to grandma's house. Had a nice visit with her. I rang my mum to see if I could go round and visit her. She has not been well, she has shingles, and is very uncomfortable, she was in tears talking to hubby on the phone last night, so she must feel bad. But there was no reply, I guessed she was in bed resting so I didn't want to disturb her. (Sure enough, there was a message on our answering machine when we got home, she had been in bed).
Hubby fixed grandma's doorbell then went and visited his mum. The children and I had tea with grandma, and watched TV and chatted with her.
When hubby got back, we all got ready and went home.
I have just set up the new printer, and it is working well. I printed a picture of Orlando Blloom for our daughter, and printed out three special photos of hubby that were taken at Colchester United (football).
All the pictures came out very well, it is nice to have a fully functioning printer again. We need to find a way of disposing of the old one in an environmentally friendly manner.
I will get some time to myself tomorrow, so I hope to scan some more pictures into the computer.
Everything seems very quiet tonight, a good time to get offline it seems. :)

It has been a busy day again, I have not spent much time on line, just in the evenings, mainly.
Tonight I went to my dancing class, for the first time in a couple of months. The medal test is March 19th, I don't have time to get ready for a Latin American medal, so I will consentrate on Club dance. Salsa, Merengue, Swing Jive and Mambo.
It was nice seeing a friendly face tonight. :)
I also had some good advice from a dear friend, thankyou. He thinks I should spend less time on line at night, and try to go to bed at the same time as my husband once in a while. It is good to get a male perspective on things.
Congratulations to Neil on passing his Driving Theory test!!!! Well done!!
We are going to buy a new printer tomorrow, this one has never worked properly. In fact I will be out most of tomorrow. Driving my husband around,. It will be a lot easier once he feels he can drive again.
I have found some more photos...but I have not had time to scan any of them. I'm glad people seem to have enjoyed what I posted so far.
I'm off to bed. Goodnight.

I was on line this morning, when my husband started to vaccuum upstairs. I took the hint, and logged off.
I cleaned the cooker top, washed the dishes and cleaned the sink, and seduced my husband before lunch.
Having created quite an appetite ;) We had cheese and onion in granary rolls for lunch. Yummy!
Collected our son from school, took him to the library, I went to the bank. We bought a couple of new lampshades. A lovely one for our bedroom, is is made of sheer red material, it is un upside down pyramid shape, with a gold tassle hanging from the point at the bottom. I think it will go with the new bedding very nicely.
Went to the nurse, and hubby had the staples removed from his wounds, (from the operation).
We went home, I cooked dinner, There being nothing much on TV, we switched it off. I dug out a load of old photos, and scanned them. Much fun. :)

I have been challenged to do a "Hair History".
There have been many styles over the years, it has been long, cut short and grown long again. I sorted through a load of photos tonight, and scanned them, and cropped them, I havene't finished by a long chalk, I am always changing my hair.
Here is the start.
This is my Purdy look. (The New Avengers)
This one isn't very clear, I didn't have a very good camera then. It is my shaggy perm. Mum did this for me. (I'm forever gratefull, *rollseyes*)
Not very long after I met my husband to be( 1979)...I had my hair cut really short, and he HATED it!!
So I grew it long for him. This one is around the time I got engaged (at 19 years old) in 1981.
Later that year, in September, my sister got married, and I was one of her bridesmaids.
But it was difficult to keep it looking nice. So it ended up short again. This si the year before we got married, we were on holiday in Wales. (I really like this picture)
I grew it a little longer for the wedding.
Here I am, pregnant with my daughter, on holiday in Cornwall, notice how I am clinging onto the railings, I was saying through gritted teeth. "Hurry up and take the bloody picture, so I get back down to the ground." *Scared of heights*
Finally for today, this one was taken in 1990/91, after I had my daughter, Just before this, I had had a perm again, and it look terrible, so I had it all cut off, leaving this rather smart hairstlye.
Are you wishing you hadn't asked Manicat???? I haven't finished yet.

No more work this week :)
Today went reasonably quick at work, we had BBC Essex on the radio for a change, so I could enjoy the Dave Monk Programme. :)
I left work at 2.15pm, went to Safeway, filled the car with diesel and then did the shopping. Lots of bargains in the bakery department, and I treated myself to the Calendar Girls DVD. I love that film!!
I got home and put all the shopping away, and got changed.
I made a curry for dinner, and we had mixed berries for dessert again..yummy I love raspberries.
I drove hubby up to the Football Club, so he could supervise the coaching/training, then I was able to come home and go on line. I have really cut down on my on line time this last week.
I booked for my daughter and I to go and see Chicago the Musical again (in London), she wants to go instead of having a birthday party, because the dancer we like is leaving the show on 6th March, I managed to book tickets for Friday night (5th). We have got 7th row.
It will be strange watching it without Kevin Richardson as Billy Flynn, I may even feel a bit upset, but Kevin Kennedy is playing Amos, now, so that will be new, and it will be a different Momma Morton and Velma will be someone new too. So it will be interesting to see the new cast members.
I don't have any plans for the next couple of days, hubby has the staples taken out of his leg tomorrow, so he should be able to drive again.
Next week is half term, but with hubby home, I guess I should go to work. He goes back to work the following week. (23rd).
I want to wish Neil good luck with his driving theory test on Friday.

I didn't have to go to work today
Got up at the usual time, children went to school.
Checked my emails. But I didn't spend much time on line.
I had to drive hubby to Colchester today, he had a couple of errands, and he can't drive with the staples still in his wounds. After lunch (french stick with cheddar, onion and cucumber in it.) I drove him to the hospital in Maldon, They are pleased, the wounds have healed, they told him to get them removed at out GP surgery on Thursday.
Hubby and son went to see Colchester United tonight. They didn't get back until 10.30.
I didn't spend much time on the computer today. I did play some Final Fantasy X, I managed to deafeat Dark Ifrit. (Zanmuto attcak did it).
I feel really tired, I can hardly keep my eyes open here.
Goodnight.

Got up at 7am, only got about 5 hours sleep, now (at 11.50pm) I am very tired.
I got the kids to school, walked the dog, made my packed lunch, I was supposed to drive hubby to Colchester today, then we realised our daughter was coming home from school early today, so I told them at work that I wouldn't be in tomorrow, because I have to drive hubby to hospital, but before I do that we will go to Colchester first.
Not too bad today, mainly boxing up cake boards, you know, the sort with silver fern leaf on one side.
Went home at 2.30. Hubby had made a big deal of clearing everything out of the bathroom, but hadn't actually done anything else. He did mop the floor before he walked up to meet our son from school. It just annoys me that he makes such a song and dance about what he has done during the day. He is obviously waiting for me to say "thankyou darling", but why should I? Nobody thanks me for what I do!
I went and played some FFX I decided to have a go at the ending of the game. There are still lots of side quests for me to do, I just wanted to see the final FMV. It was time consuming, but surprisingly easy.
We had some MacDonalds vouchers, so I drove over to Braintree with my daughter and we got some burgers and chips for our dinner.
It was the final of "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" so we all sat down to watch it together. Kerry won!! Yay, I wanted her to win. She had been so scared of all the creepy crawlies and she overcame her fear. That is what being brave really means. Peter had to do a trial tonight that scared the shit out of him. Spiders....he hated them, you could see his fear, but he did the challenge.
I couldn't do it.
I'm feeling very tired, too many late nights, exisiting on 5 - 6 hours sleep, is begining to catch up with me.
Hubby is going to watch Colchester United tomorrow, so I will have some time to myself then. :) (Feeling a little claustraphobic with him being here all the time.)

It is Sunday night, or rather, the early hours of Monday morning. I'm up late again. My computer is doing something odd. When I attempt a disk cleanup, the computer crashes as it trys to compress files. I don't know enough about computers to be confident about resolving this. I had a little look around the trouble shooters, but didn't find anything. I did do a disk scan and repair thing, but it didn't look like it found anything wrong. I'm baffled.
I was chatting with a friend, who dissapeared very suddenly, I tried to find out if everything was ok..but no response. I'm baffled.
I got the laundry done today, spent too much time on the computer, but when hubby and daughter went out for the afternoon, I couldn't resist going on line.
Hubby needs me to drive him over to Colchester tomorrow afternoon, so I will have to leave work at 2pm.
So I guess I should go to bed. I'm still baffled, I hope it wasn't something I said that made him log of like that....

I stayed up too late last night, I am used to hubby going to bed at an earlier time, and then I have my time alone, but, as he is sleeping in later, he is also going to bed later. If I stay up later than him, I end up not going to bed until 2am. I love having him home with me, but I do need time to myself.
So, yesterday, I took him into town and got him a couple of new shirts, one is blue with chinese symbols on it, that was one he liked most, and the other is black. Both are short sleeved. The T-shirts were not in stock, but he liked the look of the picure so we will check back next week.
I took some parcels to the post office, I'm sending chocolate to friends in America, I tried some Hershey's chocolate when I went to New York, and it is the most disgusting chocolate I have ever tasted, (It tastes worse than the chocolate we give to dogs, here (hubby has tasted it *laughs*). My friend Jeanne (California) was telling me she loves Hershey's so I told her I would send some good stuff. I also sent Tim (North Carolina) some more chocolate, becasue he needs cheering up. He is on a very low wage and has to move out from the home he shares with his mum, because she is going into a retirement place. He is contemplating moving to Chicago. It is a tough time for him. I hope the chocolate makes him feel better.
After the post office, we walked down to the doctors surgery, and picked up the certificate. The doctor wrote it out that hubby can return to work on 23rd Februaury. So he will be home during half term, which means I will be free to go to work :( I was looking forward to having a week off with the children. He said if I don't want to go, then don't, but it will be awkward, as they will know he is home for the kids. I'll see, I might feel the need to get away to work that week.
I didn't go dancing last night, I didn't hear from my teacher, and I didn't want to risk a drive out in the dark if there was no lesson, but at this rate I will not be ready for the exams, which I believe are just before my birthday in March.
Today I got up at 9am, checked emails, got chatting, then downstairs comes hubby and made sarcastic comments about whether I had been in front of the computer all night, as that was where he had left me when he went to bed. So I logged off.
But I'm back now, the kids have gone swimming, hubby has taken the train to Braintree to see his grandma, so I'm alone!! Peace at last!
I saw a lovely bed set in a leaflet I got recently, so I am going to order 2 duvet cover sets, plus curtains to match, in a burgandy colour. Hubby says I need to clear out my corner of the bedroom, if I am going to spruce up the soft furnishings. So I am going to try and throw out some stuff this afternoon. I am a horder. I have a box full of PS1 magazines, I think it is time they were thrown out. There is alsorts of other paperwork that I must try to throw out, but we get so much stuff from the schools, that looks like we need to keep it. I must be ruthless!!! This house is too small, but we will not be moving, so I have to clearout anything unnessesary.
Happy Birthday Grant.
I hope you have a lovely day, that you get some of the solitude that you crave, and you enjoy many more healthy, happy years to come.
Love and hugs. to you. xx
